Overview

Apraise is a Chrome extension that extracts color palettes, identifies fonts, and inspects design properties on any website. It is built with privacy as a core principle.

Data Collection

Apraise does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Specifically:

• No browsing history is collected or transmitted
• No analytics or tracking scripts are included
• No data is sent to any external server
• No accounts or sign-ins are required
• No page content is stored beyond the current session

How It Works

When you click the Apraise icon, the extension reads the computed CSS styles of the active tab's page to extract colors and font information. This processing happens entirely within your browser. No data leaves your device.

Local Storage

The extension uses Chrome's local storage API to save a small amount of preference data (such as your last active tab). This data:

• Never leaves your browser
• Contains no personal information
• Is automatically removed if you uninstall the extension

Permissions

• activeTab: Allows Apraise to read the current tab's page styles when you click the extension icon. The extension cannot access other tabs, browsing history, or any data beyond the page you're actively viewing.
• scripting: Used to inject the page scanner that reads CSS computed styles. The script only runs when you open the Apraise popup.
• storage: Used to save UI preferences locally on your device.

Third Parties

Apraise does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools. There are no ads. There is no monetization of user data.
